Child Poverty

Elvis set a direction...

…and his ideas for doing something are not outdated. The fact that many children do not even get something nutritious to eat and drink in the morning is a terrible disgrace for any community and for society as a whole. I even know of administrative officials who pretend that private organizations where you can get free food are an institution of the authorities, just to cover up their own massive failures. More beyond that - I know from my own experience how important it is to have a peaceful place where you can just be, without being threatened or regulated in any way. Elvis gave also money to youth centers.

The way of Elvis

Elvis was someone who gave money where he thought it was right. A great start was his benefit concert on July 4, 1956 in aid of "The Cynthia Milk Fund and the Variety Club's Home for Convalescent Children". For his short life he was super generous - a role model to this day.

Mother Teresa's way

The most important quote ever said about poverty comes from this Nobel Peace Prize winner:"God has not created poverty; it is we who have created it." The holy woman gave the strength of her entire life to help poor people, without exceptions, day by day and, focused on direct help on site.

The genteel way

Companies "doing good" because it's considered good form. Parties for the wealthy and politicians. They could make a real change, especially media companies. But they never do. Big words from "important" employees and donating some drops in the ocean is enough for the ease of conscience.

One more way

We know from Mother Nature that she does not create poverty and we know from Mother Teresa that poverty is not God-given either! So, there are people who create it. Isn't one way to combat child poverty if we look for those people and make them pay for their actions? To find out more read here.

Call To Action

Imagen we could not only light fires as mentioned on the Homepage and the Making-of-page, but also light fires for more, or even bigger fires to fight child poverty in general with as many sparks as possible!

"You can't start a fire without a spark • This gun's for hire • Even if we're just dancin' in the dark" (Bruce Springsteen)

Important Quote's

It was planned and prepared to have a section here beginning with "Very important words from very important people that have only limited or next to zero effect! Or even no effect at all."
Following my legal advice, I erased it because there is no sense in provoking a legal dispute that could cost money and jeopardize the whole project right from the start. On the other hand, I assume that everyone knows enough air pumps that promise a lot and only deliver the air they pumped. The world is full of such people, mostly from the political circus.
Poverty, and child poverty on top of that, is nothing to laugh about and from a human point of view the real situation is worldwide a catastrophe! Without the commitment of many artists and some certain private individuals, many things would look even worse. To conclude, let's have an important quote on that from the good team - Albert Einstein said:
"There is no great discoveries and advances, as long as there is an unhappy child on earth."
